4 WINDS WORKSHOPS
CRAFTING & CULTURE WORKSHOPS
We work with a team of former Indigenous educators to bring crafting workshops to all age groups that tie together skills like painting, beading, sewing with cultural lessons on topics like the medicine wheel, seven sacred teachings and traditional stories. These workshops are offered at all skill levels and for all age groups ranging from preschool to adult classes.
POWWOW LESSONS
Our family dance troupe Tootoosis Crew offers powwow lessons for all age groups and skill levels. We have both female and male instructors across all styles of traditional powwow dance for your community.
AUDIO WORSHOPS
This workshop offers youth the chance to explore future career opportunities within the music and arts discipline. Audio Engineer and performing artist "Toosick" offers lessons in song writing, beat making, audio production, recording your own music, incorporating traditional elements as well as live performance skills.
FASHION SHOW/ MODEL WORKSHOPS
This is one of our most popular workshops for boys and girls based on self-confidence and exploring opportunities in fashion and arts. Beginning with self-care we offer full hair and makeup services for participants, followed by lessons on runway and print modelling and a chance to be fitted into clothes from talented local Indigenous designers. The day ends with participants rocking it out on the runway in a fully curated fashion show for their community.
LANGUAGE WORKSHOPS
Charlene Tootoosis is our Cree language representative, she is a former educator with many years experience teaching Indigenous studies at all age levels. She offers Cree language workshops for all age groups and skill levels by bringing together crafting, song and cultural stories to teach language uniquely and effectively.
